Obituary

Mary Ann Matway, 76, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Fla. A daughter of the late George and Anna Belle Burnsworth Olexa, she was born in Alicia, June 9, 1933. A resident of Greensburg the past 20 years, she was a member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church of Greensburg. Survivors include her husband, Edward J. Matway, two daughters, Susan Marlette, of Herndon, Va., and Erin Byrnes, of Sykesville, Md., two sisters, Rose Lewis, of Jefferson Township, and Marlene Kamenicky, of Gainesville, Va., two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Vicki Olexa and Joseph and Lois Olexa, all of Jefferson Township, and four grandchildren, John and Jenna Marlette and Adam and Melissa Byrnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son at birth in 1961, Edward J. Matway Jr., a sister, Bernadette Olexa, and three brothers, George, Raymond and Richard Olexa. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. A blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence Manchas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
