Obituary

Mrs. Maryan (Annie) Simpson, 77, of 100 First St. in Charleroi, died suddenly Tuesday,Oct.25,1966,at 2:15 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs. Simpson came to Charleroi in 1942 from North Charleroi where she had been a resident 35 years. She was born in Waynesburg on July 18, 1889, the daughter of the late Wesley and Martha Hayes. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the First Christian Church, Turners Ladies Auxiliary and Irish Rebekah Lodge, all of Charleroi. Preceding her in death were her husband, William Henry Simpson, in 1944, and two sons, Ted, 1965, and Wayne, 1956. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Sevilla) Parsons of Clairton and Mrs. David (Dorothy) McCune of Speers, a brother, Ellis Hayes of Paden City, W. Va., one sister, Mrs. Lillian Fox of Speers, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Michael A.Melinchak Funeral Home,Charleroi,from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Service there Thursday,Oct.27,1966,at 2 p.m.with the Rev.W.S.Van Arsdale,pastor of Charleroi's First Christian Church,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Michael A.Melinchak,funeral director.
