Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Virginia Boyer, wife of Ashby Boyer,who died Tuesday, January 7,1941 at her home on Sixth street, will be held Friday afternoon,January 10,at 2 o'clock from the Wayman A.M.E. Church. Rev. W.C. McClellan will officiate. Mrs. Boyer was aged 68 years. She has been a resident of Monessen for the past 29 years. Death was due to complications. A member of the Wayman A.M.E. Church,Mrs. Boyer was a former president of the Students' Board and a teacher in the Sunday school,and at the time of her death was vice-president of the senior missionary society. She had been president of the society for 20 years,but retired on account of failing health. Besides her husband,Ashby Boyer, Mrs. Boyer is survived by two nieces,Evelyn and Mabel Newman of New York. Friends are being received at the home,608 Sixth street.
