Obituary

Mary V.Hoffman of 62 Johnston St.,Belle vernon,died Friday,Feb.18,1983,at 6:15 a.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was 87. Mrs.Hoffman was born March 17,1895,in Shamony,Pa.,a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Kekely. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years,she was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. In additon to her parents Mrs.Hoffman was preceded in death by two sons,Edward,May 15,1966,and Joseph B.,April 2,1980. Survivors include her husband,Joseph J.Hoffman,two sons,James V.Hoffman of Belle Vernon and retired U.S.Army Col.Paul Hoffman of Huntsville,Ala,two daughters,Mrs.Albert (Mary Patricia) Zidek of Coal Center and Mrs.Albert (Betty Ann) Tonkavitch of Port View,Va.,one brother,Adam Kelly of Charleroi R.D.1,one sister,Helen Kekely of Brownsville,15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be recieved in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held on Monday,Feb.21,at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
