Mrs Mary McWilllam Springer widow of Manoah Springer and one of the oldest women of Connellsvillle, died Saturday morning,March 7,1931, at 7 o'clock at her home 1311 West Crawford avenue West Side. Had she lived until March 28, she would have been 83 years old. Mrs Springer contracted grip two mouths ago and later complications, due to the infirmities of ago developed. Her death was not unexpected. Mrs. Sprlnger was born at Brownsville, March 28,1848, daughter of the late William and Janet McWilliam and spent her girlhood days there. She was married to Mr. Springer of Belle Vernon on June 17, 1870 and after spending 12 years at Belle Vernon,Mr.and Mrs. Springer came to Connellsville 49 years ago. To the union four children were born, a son, Daniel C. Springer of Connellsville surviving. Mrs. Springer is also survived by one brother, Robert McWllliam of New Orleans, La., 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Greenwood Methodist Episcopal Church,the Pen-ward Class of the Sunday School and the Ladies Circle to the William F. Kurtz Post, Grand Army of the Republic. Mrs. Springer was a woman of Christian character and by her kind manner won the friendship and esteem of all with whom she came in contact. Mr. Springer died eight years ago. The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Greenwood Methodist Episcopal Church. Owing to the illness of the pastor Rev. D. E. Minerd, a former pastor will officiate. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral Director,Charles C. Mitchell will have charge.
