Obituary

Mary Ruth Scholl Middleton,77 of Grindstone R.D.1,formerly of Rostraver Township,died in the Harmon House,Mt.Pleasant,Saturday,March 24,1990 at 4:35 p.m. She was born in Rostraver Township Jan.9,1913,a daughter of the late David S.and Sarah E.Pore Scholl. Mrs.Middleton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brownsville and a former member of both the Olive Branch Baptist Church of Rostraver Township and the Emanuel Baptist Church of Donora. She served as organist at all of the churches. She was a former member of the Rostraver Grange and held memberships in the Morning Star Grange and the Cross Keys Center in Brownsville. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by three brothers,Roy Scholl,William C.Scholl and Robert B.Scholl,a sister,Margaret H.Rankin,and her first husband,Clarence E,Stump,who died in 1954. She is survived by her husband,Mark J.Middleton,a son,James C.Stump of Rostraver Township,two daughters,Mrs.Jane Tokar and Mrs.Paul (Joan) Westfall,both of Rostraver Township,a brother,David P.Scholl of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Frank (Emma) Fettik of Redlands,Calif. and Mrs. Sarah E.Trickett of Belle Vernon,eight grandchildren,Mary Sue Colborn,Jay M.Tokar,Edward Westfall,Jeffrey C.Westfall,Paula Marie Stump,James C.Stump Jr.,Kathy Jo Stump and Cheryl Ann Stump,and two great-grandchildren,Joshua and Erica Colborn. Friends will be received at the James C.Stump Funeral Home,Inc.,Sweeney Plan-Rostraver Township,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Olive Branch Baptist Church of Rostraver Township for funeral services with the Rev.D.W.Norton officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The James C.Stump Funeral Home,Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
