Mary Russell;80;of Columbia;Md.;formerly of Fayette City;died Friday;April 23;1993;in Baltimore County General Hospital;Randallstown;Md. Mrs.Russell was born June 10;1912;in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Samuel and Angelina Ciariello Stephens. She was a retired housekeeper for numerous pasish priests in the Greensburg Diocese. Mrs.Russell was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City. In addition to her parents;Mrs.Russell was also preceded in death by her husband;John A.Russell (who died Sept.28;1962);and by one brother;Nick Stephens (who died April 12;1964). Surviving are one daughter;Dr.Catherine Gira;of Columbus;Md.;and two grandchildren;Thomas Russell Gira and Cheryl Gira Pattin. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;334 Main St.;Fayette City;where a prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Mass at 10 a.m.at the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.Richard Mackiewicz as celebrant. A parish wake service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard J.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
