Obituary

Mary Kovach Paulina, 94, of Perryopolis, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 4:40 a.m. at Washington County Health Center, Washington. Born Dec. 6, 1915, in Gary, W,Va., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sophia Koten Kovach. A resident of Perryopolis for the past 59 years, Mrs. Paulina was a member of the Christian Center Church of Belle Vernon and was a homemaker. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David J. and Theresa Paulina, of Perryopolis, three daughters and a son-in-law, Annette and David Larcinese, of Attica, Mich., Sonja Philips, of Greensboro, N.C., Pamela Paulina and fiance, Richard Brock, of Baden, three sisters, Sophie Hershberger, of Monessen, Irene Sekoski, of Uniontown, and Veronica Deacon, of Hilton Head, S.C., six grandchildren, Lisa Patterson, Danny Curtis, Len Philips Jr., Renee Houpt, Dave Paulina Jr., and Tiffany Laverick, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Paulina, on Feb. 22, 1980,, a grandson, Ronald Curtis, son-in-law, Leonard Philips, two brothers, John and Aleck Kovach, and four sisters, Barbara Stark, Nancy Pastorek, Helen Kovach and Ann Trembolak. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724)929-6183. Services will be held Friday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Derrico Jr., of Christian Center Church, Belle Vernon, officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
