Obituary
Services were scheduled Monday,Nov. 10,1997 for Mary Shimchick Martin, 96, formerly of Wilson, who died Saturday, Nov. 8,1997, at 8:30 a.m. in Jefferson Hills Manor. Born May 4,1901, in Osceola Mills, she was the daughter of the late Vasily and Anastasia Sudia Shimchick. A homemaker, Mrs. Martin was Russian Orthodox by faith. She resided in Jefferson Hills Manor since August 1991 and had previously resided in Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer S. Martin, brothers, John and William Shimchick; and a sister, Nell Skurkay. Surviving are one brother. Michael Shimchick of Belle Vernon; two sisters, Anna Kurtak of Pleasant Hills and Kathryn Crumlish of Beaver; and a sister-in-law, Florence Shimchick of Greensburg. Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. from the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, with interment following in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home.
