Obituary

Mary M.Peroney,86,of 526 Graham St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Nov.12,1998,at 11:40 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born March 12,1912,in Monessen,a daughter of the late Dalton and Maude Coughanour Hilty. Mrs.Peroney was Protestant by faith and lived most of her adult life in Belle Vernon. She had devoted many hours of her life to volunteer work for organizations such as the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and the American Cancer Society. She formerly belonged to the Tuesday Evening Civic Club. Mrs.Peroney was a cook for Rego's Restaurant from 1954 through 1965 and at the Belle Vernon Area High School from 1969 to 1973. Besides her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Frank Peroney on Aug.3,1976,one son,Frank Peroney Jr.on May 2,1953,three brothers,Dalton Hilty,Arthur Hilty and Paige Carver,one sister,Maude Schucht,and two half sisters,Eleanor Mason and Harriet Bainbridge. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law,Laura and Lawrence Palvekosky,with whom she made her home,and Frances and Melvin Gruben of Danville,Calif.,a half-brother,Willard Hilty,two half-sisters,Mildred Bainbridge and Thelma Bainbridge,four grandchildren,Lawrence Palvekosky Jr.Lisa Palvekosky Harris,Marc Gruben and Melissa Gruben Cisakowski,and five great-grandchildren,Lori Palvekosky Klein,Lawrence Palvekosky III,Ryan Harris,Derek Harris and Jenson Harris,and two great-great-grandchildren,Matthew Klein and Logan Klein. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m.Monday in the funeral home,with the Rev.Frank Sgromolo,pastor of First Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
