Obituary

Mary M. Manown, 85, of Belle Vernon (Lynnwood) passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Country Care Manor after a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Brown Roush, she was born on June 21, 1931 in Charleroi. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of Calvary Bible Church in North Charleroi. She was married to the late Frank L. Manown for 54 years. Mary held various jobs throughout her life, but she was most proud of raising her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie (Donald) Bryner of Belleview, FL; sons, Frank C. “Buddy” Manown of Fayette City, and Brad (Sharon) Manown of Rostraver Twp.; grandchildren, Tara (Sean Foerster) Holler, Lindsey (Thomas) McNeil, and Jeffrey Manown and his fiance, Mary Yoder; great grandchildren, Troy Foerster, Jeffrey Manown, and Lydia McNeil; sisters, Irene (John) Snyder, Barb (Jerry) Peters, Joann (Bruce) Smith, and Debbie (John) Pilarsick; and sisters-in-law, Lee, Evelyn, and Carolyn Manown. Mary left behind her beloved dog Shady, whom she loved very much. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank L. Manown in 2005; six brothers-in-law, William, Martin, George, Clinton, Jack, and Kirby Manown; and four sisters-in-law, Rebecca Jannotta, Naomi Kuss, Louise Bedner, and Adele Cramer. A private visitation was held Friday, December 23, 2016. Mary requested there be no public service. She wanted friends and family to remember her as she was. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
