Mary Parnella Koslasky, 93, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Monongahela Valley Hospital, Monongahela. Born Aug. 3, 1921, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Trappan Parnella. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 65 years, Mrs. Koslasky was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping, going to the casinos and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Lyndell Koslasky of Canonsburg; daughter, Marlene Koslasky of Washington Township; and a grandson, Nicholas Koslasky and wife, Jessica. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Koslasky (1997); grandson, Douglas Koslasky; two brothers, Christopher "Kizzi" Parnella, Anthony "Nin" Parnella; and five sisters, Veta Mendola, Lena Roberts, Vincetta Romito, Kathryn Caputo and Rose Philippone. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Mary Koslasky Thursday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
