Obituary

Mary Honchalk Koshka, 89, of Carrick, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Manor Care of Whitehall. A daughter of the late Peter and Mary Fertack Honchalk, she was born Feb. 17, 1913, in Pricedale. She was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon. Formerly of Pricedale, she had resided in Carrick for the past 70 years. Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Anita Beistel of Carrick, Jennie Brindle of Bloomfield, Patricia and Anthony Richards of Carrick, and Anna and Mario Richards of Baldwin, two brothers, Martin Honchalk of O'Brien, Fla., and Peter Honchalk of Lynnwood (Belle Vernon), one sister, Jennie Hostetler of Charleroi, nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Koshka, in 1961, and two sisters, Rose Gimbara and Anna Boyer. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A prayer service will be in the funeral home Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 9:30 a.m. with Father John Kluchko officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas Service will be in the funeral home Tuesday at 8 p.m.
