Mary J.Griffey;654 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;was prounced dead on arrival at Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp.on Friday;Dec.8;1978. She was 79. Mrs.Griffey was born March 29;1899;the daughter of the late David and Ellen Norris. She was a former member of the Union Baptist Church;and was a Daughter Elk with the Elite Temple 428;both of Monessen. Mrs.Griffey is survived by her husband;Allen Griffey;a son;Louis E.Griffey of Monessen;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;from 7 to 9 p.m.on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m.;with the Rev.Arthur Price;pastor of the Union Baptist Church;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
