Mary Honchalk,216 Plainview Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday, Dec. 10,1980,in Westmoreland Manor. She was 86. Born Nov. 11,1894 in Galicia, Poland,she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Florence Chowanec Furtak. Mrs. Honchalk was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon,the Lubov Lodge and the St. Barbara's Altar Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband,Peter,on July 27,1961,and a daughter, Rose Gimbara, on May 24,1961. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Martin Honchalk of O'Brien,Fla.,and Peter P. Honchalk of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Koshka of Pittsburgh,Mrs. John (Jennie) Hostetler of Charleroi and Mrs. James (Ann) Lucas Boyer of Monessen, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Rusyniak and Mrs. Helen O. Karbowsky,both of Belle Vernon,16 grandchildren,24 great-grandchildren,and four great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas services will be held Friday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Friends will gather Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Belle Vernon,for services. Rev. John Kluchko,pastor,will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
