Obituary
Mary Wozniak Halgas of 387 Ella Sr.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday, Christmas Day,December 25,1982 at 2:53 a.m. in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown. She was 84. Mrs. Halgas was born Jan. 21,1898,in Poland,a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Brazzon Wozniak. She was preceded in death by her husband,Peter Halgas,in 1949,and by three brothers and one sister. A life-long resident of the Mon Valley,Mrs.Halgas was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and Polish National Alliance No. 1146 of Monessen. Surviving are four sons, Joseph,Mack,Ernest and Rudolph Halgas,all of Belle Vernon;one daughter,Mrs. Tony (Genevieve) Zema of Monroeville;two brothers, Alex and John Wozniak,both of Belle Vernon;one sister, Mrs. Julia Dobosh of Waynesburg;10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council No. 3026 services will be Monday at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
