Township.
Born Oct. 27; 1909; in Belle
Vernon; she was the daughter of
the late James Howard and Addie Burrell Woodson.
A lifelong resident of Belle
Vernon; Mrs. Etheridge was a
member of the Speer Street
A.M.E. Church. She was the
oldest member of the church in
years of continued service.
She was also a member of the
Belle Vernon Church Women
United; Belle Vernon Golden
Age Assembly and the WeModerns Bridge Club.
In addition to her parents; she
was preceded in death by her
husband; James Carter
Etheridge Sr.; on Oct. 2;1983; an
infant son; three brothers;
Louis; James and Robert Woodson; and four sisters; Alma
Woodson; Edith Woodson Jones;
Ruth Woodson McFadden and
Leah Woodson Whitesides.
Surviving are a son and
daughter-in-law; James Carter
and Georganna Carter
Etheridge of Tampa; Fla.; a
grandson; Dr. James Craig
Etheridge of Tampa; a granddaughter; Mrs. Zachary (Geri
Lee) Smith of Lakeland; Fla.; a
brother; Jackson Craig Woodson
of Belle Vernon; a sister; Hallie
Woodson Corley of Belle Vernon; two sisters-in-law; Anna
Seattle of Chicago; Ill.; and
Pearl Corbelt of Ohio; and
numerous nieces; nephews and
cousins.
Friends will be received
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home; 626 Broad
Ave.; Belle Vernon. Private services for family members only will be held in the funeral home Thursday with the Rev.Conrad Johnson;pastor of the Speer Street A.M.E.Church;and the Rev.Luther Wormack of Belle Venron officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Monessen Public Library. Arrangements are being handled by the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home.
