Obituary

Mary E. Sadowski Steinberg,82, of 211 Perry Ave.,Belle Vernon (Fairhope) died Monday, Aug. 10,1998 at 4:30 a.m. in her home. She was born Aug. 19,1915,in Charleroi,a daughter of the late Jacob Sadowski and Amelia Dudek Sadowski Perry. Mrs. Steinberg was a resident of the Fairhope community for the past 51 years. She was a member of the St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas,Belle Vernon Court 1522.  She was a retired owner of Steinberg's Supermarket & Catering of Fairhope,which she operated for 40 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Gloria) Tracey of Mapleview and Mrs. Eugene (Toni) Saladna of Belle Vernon; two sisters, Frances Ferguson of Edgewater,Fla.,and Mrs. Leroy (Blanche) Newton of White Lake,Mich.,eight grandchildren,Judy, Paul,Patrick and Teddy Tracey and GiGi,Mary,Toni and Gene Saladna and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Tracey. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Anthony J. Steinberg on Jan. 26,1981; three brothers, William,Charles and Joseph Sadowski and two sisters, Sylvia Huntley and Helen Glamb. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,with the Rev. John R. Cindric, V.F.,pastor,as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Legion of Mary and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1522 of Belle Vernon will recite the Rosary Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home inc. is in charge of arrangements.
