Mary E. Jones, 86, of Belle Vernon passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Concordia of South Hills. A daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Mitus Zuro, she was born in North Belle Vernon on April 8, 1930. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, the H.O.A. of the church and the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Joy Jones of Rosslyn Farms, three grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Colin Jones and Caroline Jones, one sister, Ann Mezzof of BelAir, MD and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Jones, a son James L. Jones, four sisters, Olga Zuro, Jean Astle, Eve Stiranka and Doris Booth, and six brothers, Steve, William, John, Mike, Peter and Paul Zuro. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2016 in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon (724-929-5300). Family and friends will gather for funeral services on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon with Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The officers and members of the First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home to hold services at 7 P.M. Monday. If friends wish, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
