Mary E.Evans;78;of 608 Westgate Manor;Monessen;died Tuesday;July 19;1994;in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh. She was born Dec.7;1915;in Donora;a daughter of the late Patrick and Martha Payton. Mrs.Evans was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen and the Franco-American Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons;Robert R.Evans of Speers and Thomas D.Evans of Monessen;10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Robert T.Evans in 1975;and four brothers;David;John;William and James Payton. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m.with the Rev.William O.Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
