Mrs. Mary E. Clawson,75,of 102 Vine St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,April 13,1959,at 6:55 p.m. in Women's Hospital,Pitttsburgh. Born in Brownsville,Sept. 25,1883, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon;Order of Eastern Star and Belle Vernon Woman's Club. She held membership in the Women's Missionary Society and the R.J. Linton Class of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Clawson came to Belle Vernon in 1906 from Brownsville. Her husband,J. Orton Clawson,preceded her in death Sept. 26,1953.She is survived by a son, James O. Clawson Jr.,Belle Vernon;two daughters,Mrs. Henry (Jane) Goeppinger of Warren,Ohio and Mrs. Charles F. (Betty) Conklin of Harrodsburg, Ky. and four grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday,April 17,at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev. S. Arthur Talman,pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
