A Lynnwood girl was fatally injured when struck by a Monessen motorist while walking along the Monessen-Pricedale road during the thick fog early Thursday morning,October 8,1942. The victim, Mary Chemelewski,22,was reported to have been walking along the roadway at 12:55 a.m. and stepped into the path of a car driven by Joseph Rousseau,Jr.,20,who was driving a friend to his home in Pricedale. The girl suffered a fractured skull, fractures of both legs and cuts about the face. Rousseau stopped and had her removed to the Charleroi-Monessen hospital wher she died at 2:55 a.m. The deceased is survived by her father, Michael Chemelewski,of Lynnwood,and three sisters, Lena and Anna,at home and Mrs. Henry Anieliewski of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8 o'clock from St. Hyacinth Church with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Charles L. Melenyzer and Edwin Melenyzer,funeral directors in charge.
