Mrs.Mary (Matdej) Bednar;83;Fayette City R.D.1;Gillespie;died suddenly of a heart attack at her home at 12:40 p.m.Thursday;Dec.28;1972. She was born in Czechoslovakia;Jan.4;1889;daughter of the late Michael and Susan Poprocky Matdej. She was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Rite Catholic Church of Charleroi. Survived by two sons;Joseph of Fayette City R.D.1 and George at home;four daughters;Mrs.Joseph (Anna) Poprocky of Uniontown;Mrs.Peter (Kathryn) Vesley and Mrs.Joseph (Helen) Bolchak of Fayette city R.D.1 and Mrs.John (Margaret) Buckley of Bethesda;Md.;15 grandchildren and eigth great-grandchildren. Friends being received at Howard McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City after 7 p.m.Saturday where a service will be held Tuesday;Jan.2;at 9:30 a.m.followed by Requiem Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.at Holy Ghost Byzantine Rite Catholic Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.Andrew Chura;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Service for the dead will be chanted in the funeral home Monday at 7:30 p.m. Howard W.McCrory;funeral director.
