Mary Wassilchalk Bashada,93,formerly of Belle Vernon,died Wednesday, nov. 3,1999,at 4:40 p.m. in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Mrs. Bashad was born Jan. 15,1906,in Pricedale,the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Pysh Wassilchalk. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon,whe was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon and was a member of the choir and one of the founding members of the Church's Altar Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law,Ted and Mary Lou Smedley Bashada of Speers and Michael G. and Pauline Venneri Bashada Jr. of Belle Vernon;two brothers, Michael Wassilchalk of Belle Vernon and Peter Wassilchalk; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in deth by her husband, Michael F. Bashada on Feb. 17,1988; a daughter, Mary Ann Minett of Feb. 13,1980;three sisters, Anna Tallerico, Pearl Maker and Theresa Belsick and four brothers, John, Andrew,Stephen and Daniel Wassilchalk. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,Family Owned and Operated,626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Relatives and friends will gather at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Mary Street, Belle Vernon on Saturday at 10 a.m. for funeral services with the Rev. John Kluchko,pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas services will be held on Friday evenng in the funeral home.
