Obituary

Mary Barker Williams,76 of 117 Fayette St.,Fayette City was fatally injured while attempting to cross Route 201 near Toth's Lynnwood supermarket on Thursday,Oct.1,1972. She was pronounced dead on arrival at 7:35 p.m.at the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital,Inc.of a skull fracture and multiple injuries. State police said Mrs.Williams was struck by a car driven by Yvonne C.Gardner,23,of Perryopolis R.D.1 as she was walking across the road to her car around 7:15 p.m. She reportedly had been visiting relatives just before the accident. Police said no charges have been filed against the Gardner woman. Mrs.Williams,who turned 76 years old on Tuesday,was born in Bagus Mine (Elks County). She was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elaine Spence Barker. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,Fayette City. Mrs.Williams was preceded in death by her husband,Jerome L.Oct.1,1971. Surviving are two sisters,Louise Stewart and Emma Warner,both of Belle Vernon,nieces and nephews. Friends will be received after 2 p.m.Saturday and on Sunday at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Main St.,Fayette City,where services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
