Obituary

Mary Cox,64,of 938 Knox Ave.,Monessen,died Tuesday March 28,1979 at 5:30 p.m. in Westmoreland Manor,Greensburg. Born Oct.4,1914,in Mt.Pleasant,she had resided in Monessen for 20 years and was the daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Miller Street Baptist Church of Pittsburgh,and the Elite Temple 428 of Monessen which is affiliated with the Alpha Council No.1,Pittsburgh. In addition to her mother,she is survived by her husband,John Cox,three stepsons,Frank Rawlins and Vernon Cox Jr.,both of Monessen,and Robert Rawlins of the state of California,four stepdaughters,Betty Love,Patricia Kizzie,Alice Ingram and Alverta Holmes,all of Monessen,one sister,Goldie Pearl Harris of Pittsburgh,14 grandchildren,one niece,Alice Graves of Pittsburgh,and many nieces,nephews and friends. Friends will be received in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Memorial services will be held at the Wayman A.M.E.Church on Saturday at 11 a.m.,with the Rev.Hall,pastor of the Miller St.Baptist Church,Pittsburgh,officiating,assisted by the Rev.E.E.Davis,Pastor of the Wayman A.M.E. Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. William R.Taylor,funeral director,in charge of arrangements.
