Mary Walkush Altieri,78,of 210 Hempfield Towers,Greensburg,died Tuesday,Jan.24,1989,at 11:37 a.m. at her home. She was born Jan.19,1911,in Belle Vernon,a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Heretik Walkush. Mrs. Altieri was Catholic by faith. She had resided in Greensburg for the past 12 years,having previously lived on the North Side of Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,Jerome Altieri,in 1954,and five sisters and one brother. Surviving are two brothers, Joseph Walkush and Melvin (Bucky) Walkush Sr.,both of Belle Vernon;four sisters,Mrs. Augustine Ezolt of Monessen,Mrs. Irene Gibson of Key Biscayne,Fla.,and Mrs. Mildred Ward and Mrs. Cecelia Sweitzer,both of Belle Vernon;and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
