Mary A. Argirakis, 78, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Excela Latrobe Hospital. A daughter of the late Anthony and Costanza Mele Scalise, she was born in Belle Vernon on December 19, 1937. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mary was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the Annita Garibaldi Society. Mary worked for many years at the former family business, Tony's Dairy Bar on Market Street. She was best known for her homemade pizzas. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Mike Argirakis, two granddaughters, Dorthia Argirakis of Belle Vernon, and Mcall Argirakis of Monessen, one grandson, Joel Class of Belle Vernon, and one great-grandchild, Isabella Class. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Michael C. Argirakis and Anthony L. Argirakis, both in 1987, a great-granddaughter Sierra Class in 2010, one brother, Frank Scalise and her faithful companion, Mickey in 2011. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday followed by a funeral mass at 10 A.M. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Roger as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 3 P.M. led by the members of St. Sebastian Parish.
