Funeral services were held Friday for Marvin F. Barr,92,of Perryopolis R.D.1,who died Wednesday,Jan. 2,1991,at 6:42 p.m. at the home of his daughter in Perry Township after a lengthy illness. Mr. Barr was born Oct. 14,1898,in Hundred, W.Va.,a son of the late Nicholas and Laura Campbell Barr. He had been employed at the Gilmer Coal Mine in Webster,at the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,and was retired from Rostraver Township as a truck driver. Mr. Barr was a U.S.Army veteran of World War I. He was a lifetime member of the Ernest D.Jobes American Legion Post No. 212,Donora. He was a Protestant by faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barr was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Green Barr,who died in 1968. Surviving are his second wife, Mildred Barr,of Bentleyville;three daughters,Mrs. Frank (Lavonne) Farquhar of Lynnwood, Belle Vernon, Mrs. Agnes Krivyniak of Belle Vernon,and Mrs. William (Kathryn) Sickles of Perryopolis R.D.1,with whom he made his home;five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The Rev. Melvin Wingrove,pastor,Flatwoods Baptist Church, Flatwoods,Pa.,officiated at the services. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,was in charge of arrangements.
