Obituary

Martin D.Antal Jr.,76,of 137 Jean St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly on Friday,June 16,1989,at 2:55 p.m.in his home. Born Oct.8,1912,in Belle Vernon,he was the son of the late Martin and Agnes Golema Antal Sr. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon,Mr.Antal had been a general contracter in the Mon Valley area for the past 49 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and American Legion Post 659 and Knights of Columbus Council 3026,also in Belle Vernon. A U.S.Army veteran of World War II,he had been a staff sergeant with the 216th Engineers. Surviving are his wife,Lillian Tintori Antal,one son,David M.Antal of Belle Vernon,one daughter,Mrs.Stephen (Linda) Zabawsky of Mt.Lebanon,seven sisters,Ann Cernicky of Port Charlotte,Fla.,Helen Bassar of Midland,Mary Leonard of Wheeling,W.Va.,and Mrs.Walter (Elizabeth) Lucas,Pauline Antal,Sophie Nusser and Mrs.James (Stella) Trenk,all of Belle Vernon,and three brothers,John Antal of Baltimore,Md.,and Stephen Antal and Joseph Antal,both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 will hold services in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will hold services in the funeral home at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Arrangements are being handled by the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home.
