Mrs.Martha Polen;60;of Belle Vernon R.D.3;died Saturday at 12:45 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs.Polen was a substitute teacher in the Belle Vernon Area School District and formerly taught in the Smithfield;Ohio;School District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon. Surviving are her husband;Frank;two daughters;Mrs.Ronald (Sue) Taylor of Belle Vernon and Mrs.David (Marianne) Ready of Levittown;a son;Richard;a senior at the University of West Virginia at Morgantown;three grandchildren;two brothers;Fred Ruppert of Toledo;Ohio;and Ted Ruppert of Spencerville;Ohio. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Service there Tuesday;July 16;at 2 p.m.with Dr.S.Arthur Talman;pastor of Belle Vernon’s First Presbyterian Church;officiating.
