Martha E.Robbins;85;of Belle Vernon;died Saturday;May 2;1992;at 4:45 p.m. in South Hills System;Jefferson Center;after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug.24;1906;in Wigan;England;and came to the United States in 1910. She is a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ellen Major Jolley. Mrs.Robbins was a member of Fayette City United Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son;Richard L.Robbins of Fayette City; a daughter;Sara Jane Shipley of Lemont Furnace;a grandson;Richard L.Robbins II;two great-granddaughters;Michelle and Tiffany;two sisters-in-law;Mary Jolley of Fayette City and Edith Weaver of Fairhope/Belle Vernon;and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Edward Robbins on Feb.6;1968. Friends were received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and until 11 a.m. Wednesday;when services will be held with the Rev. George H.Koon;pastor of the Isabella Wesleyan Methodist Church;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.
