Obituary

Mark Roy Whitelaw,60,a member of the North Belle Vernon Council for 12 years,died suddenly at his late home Friday,Aug.2,1963,at 8 a.m. He lived at 387 Jones St. in Belle Vernon. Mr.Whitelaw was a member and past president of the North Belle Vernon Fire Dept.and a member of the Christian Church of Belle Vernon. He was employed as a driver for the National Biscuit Co.for 42 years,retiring from this job last year. Born in Banning,Nov.13,1902,he had spent most of his life in Belle Vernon. Surviving are his widow,Ethel Snyder Whitelaw,two sons,Charles Robert of Belle Vernon R.D.and Roy L.of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.James (Phyllis) Dague of Bentleyville,and Mrs.Matthew (Lois) Lococo of Leonardtown,Md.,six grandchildren,two brothers,John of Belle Vernon R.D.,and Robert of Belle Vernon,one sister,Mrs.Leroy (LuLu) Jones of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon. Services will be held there Monday,Aug.5,at 1:30 p.m.,in charge of the Rev.E.M.Oakes,pastor of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson of Belle Vernon is the funeral director.
