Mark E. Bennett; 90; of Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Dec. 12; 2006; in Havencrest Nursing Home. A son of the late Joseph and Sophia Kostelac Bennett; he was born in Fayette City on Jan. 3; 1916. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; American Legion Post 659; the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club and the Belle Vernon Musical Society. Formerly of Arnold City; Mark had lived in Belle Vernon for the past 40 years; retired from Mathies Mine; and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; Hannah Sethman Bennett; two daughters and sons-in-law; Linda and Jeffrey Pendo and Debbie and Jeffrey Gantner; all of Belle Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law; Mark Butch and Nora Bennett; of Fayette City; one sister; Joan Venable; of Cleveland; Ohio; six grandchildren; Eric Bennett and wife Mimoza; Chuck Bennett and wife Jill; Brian Bennett; Shawn Pendo; Jennifer Pendo; Tom Gantner and wife Kristina; and Scott Gantner; and two great-grandchildren; Madison Bennett and Zachary Gantner. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by three sisters; Mildred Severovic; Mary Bieleski and Goldie Ercegovic; and two brothers; Nick and Mike Bennett. On Thursday; the Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 3 p.m.; led by members of St. Sebastian Parish; and American Legion Post 659 will meet to hold services at 7 p.m.
