Marilyn C. Swantek; 55; of Belle Vernon; passed away Tuesday; Aug. 7; 2007; in her home after an illness of three years. She was born in North Charleroi on Oct. 10; 1951; a daughter of Betty Louise Moore Turcaso; who survives and resides in Washington; Pa.; and the late James Martino. Marilyn was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; the Annita Garibaldi Society; the Women’s Social Club; the Valley Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution; where she had been a chaplain and registrar. She; along with her husband; had been active in the Belle Vernon Area Football and Cheerleaders Association for a number of years and had owned and operated Colonial Ceramics in Belle Vernon from 1975 until 1988. Formerly of Charleroi; she had resided in Belle Vernon for the past 36 years and had been employed by Dr. Mary Ducato for 14 years until her retirement in 2002. Survivors; in addition to her mother; include her husband of 35 years; Charles Chuck Swantek; two sons and daughters-in-law; Brian and Amy Swantek; of Belle Vernon; and Michael and Shari Swantek; of Pittsburgh; one sister and brother-in-law; Cheryl and Donald White; of Washington; and four grandchildren; Lilly; Chloe; Vincent and Dominic Swantek. In addition to her father; she was preceded in death by her stepfather; Rudy Turcaso; in 2004.
