Private services were held today for Marie R. Rocca; 92; of Charleroi; who died Friday; Aug. 7; 2009; in Mon Valley Care Center. She was born July 30; 1917; in Charleroi; daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine Campieri Cardinale. Marie was a member of Mary; Mother of the Church Parish; the Goodwill Club and the Sons of Italy; and was an avid bingo player. Surviving are one daughter; Ernestine (Robert) Lackner; of Charleroi; four grandchildren; Robert (Betty) Lackner; Annmarie (Dave) Smith; Samuel (Lisa) Rocca and Stephanie (Barry) Carmello; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Ernest Rocca; one son; Samuel Rocca; two sisters; Stella Gibino and Connie Caramella; and one brother; Louis Cardinale. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. at Belle Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Bernard Costello; officiating. Interment followed in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements by CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME; Charleroi.
