Obituary

Marie Crespo, 92, of North Belle Vernon, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in Sphar's Personal Care Home, Belle Vernon. A daughter of the late Charles and Anna Collins Williams, she was born April 12, 1910, in Ebensburg. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Formerly of Charleroi, she had resided in Belle Vernon since 1949. Mrs. Crespo had owned and operated the Perry Floral Company until 1960 and the former Plaza Floral Co. in Monessen until her retirement in 1968. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Miriam Crespo of Donora, a brother, Paul Williams of Charleroi, three sisters, Pauline Swantek of the state of California, and Vivian and Betty Williams of Charleroi, four grandchildren, Harry S. Crespo of Wendell, N.C., Thomas Crespo of South Park, Robert Crespo of Donora, and Martina Brletich of Washington, Pa., a great-granddaughter, Katlyn Crespo, and a former daughter-in-law, Barbara Guthrie of Bentleyville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Crespo, on Feb. 18, 1985, a brother, Leonard Williams, and two sisters, Velma Clark and Marcella Bailey. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., (724-929-5300) a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A prayer service will be in the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 20, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
