Maria Cardamone Mazzei of Belle Vernon R.D.1;Rostraver Twp.;died Wednesday;Dec.8;1982;at 10:53 a.m.at the home of her son;Dominic Mazzei;with whome she made her home. Mrs.Mazzei was 93.
She was born Jan. 12;1889;
In Italy; a daughter of the late
Pietro and Philomena Morrelli
Cardamone.

Mrs. Mazzei came to the
United States as a young
bride in August of 1907. She was a longtime resident of North Belle Vernon;where she and her husband raised their family. The Mazzeis moved to their country home in Rostraver Twp.in 1944. A member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;Mrs.Mazzei’s main hobby was knitting. She had completed more than a dozen full size afghans during the past few years. Previously she had also spent time in her outdoor gardens as well as canning and baking. Mrs.Mazzei is survived by five sons;Pete L.of Belle Vernon R.D.1;Angelo of Belle Vernon;Dominic of Belle Vernon R.D.1;John of Chadds Ford;Pa.;and Frank W.of Belle Vernon R.D.1;four daughters;Mrs.Sue Touche and Mrs.Theresa Sanino;both of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Paul (Catherine) Doenges of McKeesport and Mrs.Frank (Anita) Sefchok of Belle Vernon;30 grandchildren;46 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service will be held Saturday;Dec.11;at 9:30 a.m.in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus 3026 will conduct a service on Thursday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. Parish Rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 8 p.m. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
