Margaret "Peg" Butera, 85, of Charleroi, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in the Mon Valley Care Center. Born on Dec. 23, 1928, she was the daughter on the late Frank and Mari Janic Kocian. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and an excellent homemaker. Peg is survived by her son, Joseph Edward Butera, and wife, Chris, of Bethel Park; daughters, Linda Susick and husband, Michael, of Belle Vernon, and Donna Ramusivich and husband, Joseph, of Bethel Park; sister, Dolores Snyder, of Lakewood, Ohio; grandchildren, Joseph William (Melissa) Butera, Abby Butera, Michael Susick, Julie Susick, Stephen (Amanda) Ramusivich, and Brad Ramusivich; great-grandchildren, Samuel Butera and one on the way; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joyce Ramusivich. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph D. Butera, in 2003; brothers, Steven and Frank Kocian; and sisters, Rose Sedlak, Mary Blumenstock, Agnes Fidnarik, Helen Morgan, and Ann Jeffers. Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, and will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, with interment following in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
