Mrs. Margaret Marie Ward,aged 50 years,925 Lockout aveune,died Saturday,Nov. 29,1952,at 8:20 a.m. after a lingering illness. A resident of Monessen for the past 42 years,the deceased was a member of the choir and of the gospel chorus of the Union Baptist Church,and a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Legion,Joseph H. Ford Post 691. Surviving are her husband,Edward Ward;six sons,Albert,of Gary,Ind.,Ernest,with the U.S. Army,in the Philippines,Herman,with the Army in Kentucky,Edward,Jr.,with the Army,at Camp Pickett,Va.,Donald,with the Army,in Geneva,N.Y.,and Robert,at home;six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Carter,of Detroit,Mich.,Mrs. Harriet Wilcox,of Monessen,Mary, Darlene,Mildred,and Lois,at home;two brothers,Albert Washington,of Detroit,Mich.and James Washington,of Fairhope;two step-sisters,Mrs. Pearl Phillips,of Monessen,and Mrs. Blanche Lockett,of Danville,Va.;a step-brother,Clyde Wheeler of Monessen and her step-father,Wash Wheeler. Friends are being recedived at the Draper Funeral Home,Sixth street. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,Dec.2,at 11 a.m. from the Union Baptist Church,with Rev. H.A.S. Cooke officiating.
