Margaret Letita;70;of 406 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon died Thursday;Feb.1;1979 at 11:10 a.m. her home. Born in Belle Vernon on July 24;1908 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lavena Cocain Sims. A Protestant by faith;Mrs.Hewitt graduated from California Normal in 1927 and taught school in Carroll Twp. in the late 1920s. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hewitt in 1962. She is survived by three sons;Charles H.Hewitt of Belle Vernon;John F.Hewitt with the U.S.Navy in Spain;and Thomas J.Hewitt of Pittsburgh;three daughters;Mrs.James (Lavina) McClain of San Jose;Ca.;Mrs.William (Zeta) Morgan of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Dave (Penny) Kerr of Sandy Lake;one brother;Edward Oliver Sims of Linwood;16 grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor R.Dawson Hopson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
