Magdaline Peggy Labosh Honchalk; 94; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; passed away peacefully; surrounded by her loving family on Monday; Sept. 30; 2013; at Nature Park Commons in Greensburg; where she has been attended to by many warm; loving; extended family-type employees. Born March 10; 1919; in Charleroi; she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Urda Labosh. She married Peter Honchalk Jr. on March 25; 1944; and the two of them were married nearly 67 years. He died on March 6; 2011. Peggy Honchalk was a devoted member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; Belle Vernon; where she and her husband Peter were founding members. She was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox; St. Barbara’s Altar Guild for 25 plus years. She also kept the Ladies Guild’s record books of many newspaper articles and memorable church activities. Peggy joined the Red Hat group later in life and enjoyed the group’s activities. She enjoyed her many craft endeavors; cooking; reading; and housekeeping activities. Her young grandchildren and great-grandchildren were so precious to her. She loved being a grandmother and even a great-grandmother. She was a most loving; pleasant; easy going person who would always have a great smile on her face. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; Peter Honchalk III and wife; Angie of Pearl City; Ill.; Dave and Suzanne Honchalk of Monrovia; Md.; three grandchildren from Maryland; Delaney Honchalk; Samuel Honchalk and Matthew Honchalk; and three grandchildren from Illinois; Marie and Merle Bronkema; Mike and Angie Reich; and Julie and Tim Maurer; 11 great-grandchildren from Illinois; Jennifer and Chris Slater; Amanda Reich; Mark Bronkema; Zach Maurer; Tim Reich; Melissa Bronkema; Mandy and Derrick Schlafer; Alex Maurer; Andy Reich; Michelle Bronkema; Matthew Bronkema; sister; Mary Peffer of Charleroi; brother; Steve Labosh of Charleroi; many nieces and nephews and helpful and caring neighbors; George Pulaski and Cliff Biddlestone. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather Friday at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church for funeral services at 9 a.m. with the Very Rev. Samuel Smolcic officiating.
