The death Angel struck twice within the short time of 14 hours, taking a husband and wife, and leaving four orphan children. The dead are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest G. Voyzey,of 418 Sixth street, both victims of pneumonia. Mrs. Voyzey was the first to pass away, succumbing at 8 o'clock Friday night, March 11,1932 at the family home, while the husband, not yet notified of his wife's death, died at 10 o'clock Saturday morning,March 12,1932 in the St. Margaret's hospital,Pittsburgh. Less that two weeks ago Mrs. Voyzey was stricken while enroute home from Kentucky where she attended the funeral of a sister. Five days later,Mr. Voyzey,43 years of age, became ill while at work at the Pittsburgh Steel. He was removed to his home, but his condition became so serious that it was thought best to remove him to the Pittsburgh hospital. Despite the best of care for both the husband and wife, neither was able to ward off the revages of the dread disease, and death only separated them for a few hours. The family has resided here for the past 15 years, the husband being employed at the Pittsburgh Steel. Both were affiliated with the Episcopal Church of this city. Mrs. Voyzey was 40 years of age and was a kind and loving wife and a wonderful mother and neighbor, and her passing like that of her husband,is mourned by a host of friends and neighbors. The couple is survived by four children,Marion,Wilson,Eleanor and Curtis. Mrs. Voyzey also is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Curtis, along with three brothers,Kenneth of Cleveland,Richard of Cleveland and Paul of Akron,Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Curtis Reynolds of Louisville,Ky. and Mrs. William Maiter of Canton, Ohio. Mr. Voyzey's only survivor is his mother, who made her home at the Voyzey residence. Present plans call for a double funeral Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the Trinity Episcopal Church, with Rev. Chester L. Hultz officiating. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
