At an early hour on Saturday morning;Dec.1;1928;the Death Angel entered the home of Luther Corwin;one of Belle Vernon’s oldest and most respected citizens; and called him to the Great Beyond while he was peacefully sleeping;after a long and painful siege of heart trouble. Mr.Corwin;who was a son of the late Barnet and Martha (Springer) Corwin;was born in Belle Vernon;Nov. 19;1856;and was a life long resident of the town;except a few years spent in Avalon;Pa. In early life he united with the Belle Vernon Baptist church and for many years was a valued member of the church choir. He was of quiet habits and devoted to his home and family;a kind neighbor and a true friend. To mourn the loss he leaves the following relatives;his wife;Elizabeth Garee Corwin;one daughter;Mrs.John E.Barron;two sons;Lloyd W.Corwin;of Belle Vernon;and Robert W.Corwin;of Jeannette;eight grandchildren and one brother;Odell Corwin;of Belle Vernon. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from his home on Speer street;and interment made in the Belle Vernon cemetery.
