Obituary

Lugene Green Radcliff, 75, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Daisytown, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born June 9, 1934, to the late Herbert Green Sr. and Christine Lee Green in Crescents Heights, Daisytown. A resident of this area all her life, she moved to Belle Vernon after her marriage to her beloved husband, Daniel Radcliff. A member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Daisytown, and a diligent worker, she was the church secretary, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and the Vacation Bible school coordinator for many years. She belonged to the YWBA and was treasurer of Congress of Christian Education, and third vice president of the Women's Home and Foreign missions of the YWBA. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Daniel Radcliff, six sisters, Elsie Hoggans, Arlene Miller and twin, Florene Green, Dorothy and husband John Tyler all of Daisytown, Fannie Hawkes of Pittsburgh, and Helen Lucas, of Detroit, Mich., and one brother, Nathaniel and wife Kay Green, of Detroit, Mich., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding her in death also were two sisters, Mary Settles and Ruth Wilkinson, and a brother, Herbert Green Jr. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Avenue, Monessen, and Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crescent Heights, Daisytown, from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time the funeral services will begin. Interment will be at the LaFayette Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Michaux, pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Daisytown. Services were entrusted to the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 724-684-4877, Trudy Taylor Bristol, funeral director, in charge.
