Obituary
Mrs. Lucy Hawes,52,died Friday,Dec. 18,1959,at 3:15 p.m. at her home,1049 Morgan Ave., Monessen. Mrs. Hawes was born March 15,1907. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Caude (Christine) Garry of Monessen and Mrs.Barbara Blackburn of Detroit;five sisters, Mrs. Mary Huff Woodson of Clairton,Mrs. Minnie Willis of Tignall,Ga.,Mrs. Estella Green of Dalton,Ga.,Mrs. Ella Birdine and Mrs. Rosal Grimes of Knoxville,Tenn.;two brothers, Willie Andrews of Knoxville and Thomas Andrews of Winston Salem,N.C. and five grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Carter Funeral Home,Monessen from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,Dec. 22,at 11 a.m. from the Union Baptist Church,Monessen,with the Rev. E. Archie officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. DuBoise Carter,funeral director.
