Obituary

Lucy Ada Clemons Cook Johnson,84,of 78 Main St.,Pricedale,died Tuesday,June 11,1996,in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Sept.29,1911,in Greensboro,a daughter of the late William and Lera Ada Williams Clemons. A Pricedale resident for the past 70 years,she was a member of Pleasant Green A.M.E.Church,where she was the mother of the church. She was also a former missionary and a former member of the quilting club. Survivors include nine sons and four daughters-in-law,Fred and Evelyn Patterson Johnson,Charles Ray Cook,Donald Cook,and Ralph and Paula Cook,all of Pricedale,Douglas K. Pete and Rose Johnson of Greenhill,Lawrence Marvin Johnson of Pontiac,Mich.,Gary and Veronica Cook and Gaylan Cook,both of Pittsburgh,and Gaylord Cook of Clairton,five daughters,Mrs.Norma Jean (Gene Paul) Jackson of Finleyville,Audrey Mae Johnson,Shirley Ann Bizzelle and Frances Charlene Cook,all of Pricedale,and Gail (Roderick) Jeter of Manassas,Va.,50 grandchildren,32 great-grandchildren,and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Fred Patterson Johnson in 1985,and one brother,Lawrence William Clemons. Friends will be received Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Pleasant Green A.M.E.Church,Pricedale,where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Robert L.Bailey,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Homes Inc.,Donora,in charge of the arrangements.
