Obituary

Louise Girardin Winship-Shields of Independence died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at the Independence Regional Health Center. Mrs. Winship was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Monessen and had lived in Independence since 1970. She was employed by Detray Plating Company and worked at the RLDS Center Stake. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the American Business Women's Association and the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Winship Jr. in 1974. Survivors include a sister, Lillian M. Plevel, California, one brother, Jack Girardin of Monongahela and numerous nieces and nephews in Missouri and Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Charleroi. Mrs. Winship was cremated and will be buried in Belle Vernon. Contributions are asked to be given to Patrick Plevel.
