She was a daughter of the late John W.and Mary Deneen Chalfant;and was a member of the Fayette City Christin Church;a charter member of the Auxiliary of F.O.E.1356;Brownsville;Auxiliary of L.O.O.M.Chapter 172;Brownsville;and a retired cashier of a restaurant in Washington;D.C. Surviving are her husband;James A.Woods;Jr.;three daughters;Mrs.Melva Louisa Betsko of Oxen Hills;Md.;Mrs.Ruth Marie Jay of Cascade;Md.;and Mrs.Judith Ann Harmon of Brunswick;Md.;eight grandchildren;three great-grandchildren;four brothers;Wesley Chalfant of Aliquippa;Frank Chalfant of Belle Vernon;Fred Chalfant of Syracuse;N.Y.and Hugh Chalfant of Brunswick;N.J.;two sisters;Mrs.Jane Sanders of St.Petersburg;Fla.;and Mrs.Ruth Baker of Greensburg. Friends are being received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;where services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m.;with Rev.Bruce Smith;pastor of the Fayette City Christian Church;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon;Pa.
