Obituary

Louis Tiernan,64,of Belle Vernon (Fairhope),died Monday,March 27,1995,at 3:30 p.m. in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born Sept. 22,1930,in Washington Township,Fayette County,he was a son of the late George and Rachel Jackson Tiernan. Mr. Tiernan worked as a bricklayer out of Local 11 in Washington,Pa. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City. A veteran of the Korean Conflict,Mr. Tiernan served in the U.S.Army. Survivors include his wife,Zora Kostelac Tiernan;one son,Michael Tiernan of Pittsburgh;two daughters and sons-in-law,Valerie and Jerome Bilsky of Belle Vernon and Kathleen and Stephen Baker of Fayette City R.D.;three brothers,Charles Tiernan of Perryopolis,Raymond Tiernan of Belle Vernon and George Tiernan of Roscoe; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Shaffer of Washington,Pa.,Mrs. Donald (Dolores) johnsonof Perryopolis and MRs. Edward (Marie) Myatt of Bon Aqua,Tenn.;and three grandchildrenJeremy Bilsky,Shawn Baker and Joanna Ganster. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Tiernan. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,and Thursday until 9:30 a.m.,at which time a Prayer service will be held in the funeral home,followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev. Richard E. Mackiewicz as celebrant.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
